Beautiful, richly illustrated Old-Believer manuscript, with an unusual style and unusual pinholes in the images. A fine item in its first binding.

The first primer printed in Russia, first edition, in a great, complete example almost without restoration, and in its contemporary binding allowing generous margins showing an extremely rare typographic sign. A great rarity, with only one copy in public libraries outside Russia.
Most of Akhmatova's pre-1923 poetry in three matching volumes, including some new publications. Rarely found together in satisfying condition without restoration. With continuous bibliophile provenance and poems added in manuscript.
Not only an imperial copy from the Tsarina's library, but possibly a book she had while still in England - since she was a granddaughter of Queen Victoria. A fine example of this bestseller.
Great example of possibly the greatest Ukrainian ABC.
An interesting and very unusual item: a samizdat copy of Akhmatova's masterpiece, bound in the poetess' dress, with a lengthy inscription detailing part of the provenance.
SHAKESPEARE, William and I. GOLDBERG (translator)
Romeo un Zshulyete: tragedya in finf aktn [Romeo and Juliet: the Tragedy in Five Acts]
Lovely example of a rare book: the first 'Romeo and Juliet' published in Yiddish, here in fine condition and inscribed by the translator to a famous Yiddish author and professor.
A great, very unusual printed artefact: an early example of Russian lithography in form of a long roll, giving extensive illustrated details on the future funeral of the tsar. Very rare.
A classic Ballets-Russes work inscribed to a Russian-born Parisian lady, while she was helping Proust publishing the beginning of his 'Recherche': a fine example of the first edition of this famous work.

Sviattsy [Religious Almanac]
Complete with bold miniatures and ornaments: a fine Old-Believer manuscript, signed by the scribe and artist. With contemporary provenance.
DOSTOEVSKY, Fedor Mikhailovich
Besy [The Devils, sometimes The Possessed or Demons]
The best example we've handled of the first edition of this important Russian novel.
A bibliophile's pleasure (and definitely Lifar was one!): an extra-large paper copy of his standard work on Diaghilev, one of 15 ad nominem copies, warmly inscribed to the wife of a leading Russian publisher and bookdealer in Paris. An exceptional example.
One of Russia's greatest masterpieces, here in a lovely 'miniature' edition - the last one published during Pushkin's lifetime - and in an attractive example with the rare wrappers.
