Our Notes & References

First edition of this important poetical almanac, with in particular the first appearance in print of Tsvetaeva’s poems ‘Devochka-smert’ and ‘Na bul’vare’ – but also including pieces by major Symbolist poets, such as Solovev, Blok, Belyi, Voloshin, Gorodetskii, Gumilev, Viacheslav Ivanov and Kuzmin, among the 30 poets published here, in a rather attractive publication of larger format and thick paper.

Tsvetaeva’s two poems represent only her second appearance in print and would be included in 1912 in her second collection of poetry, ‘Volshebnyi Fonar’ [‘The Magic Lantern’].
