Our Notes & References
First edition of this historical analysis of the secret plots and intrigues swirling around the Imperial regime in the lead up to 1917. This work is Melgunov’s attempt to present a more objective view of the events and figures of the period, in particular Nicholas II, whom he viewed as fundamentally motivated by a love for Russia, however misguided his actions. Much space is also devoted to conspiracies involving freemasons, including Kerensky and other ministers who came to power after the February Revolution.
Rarely found in such a fresh condition, in original wrappers and mostly unopened.
