First illustrated edition of this children’s book aimed at educating young readers about different professions and trades, such as farming, hunting and fishing.

A fresh example with its lovely decorated binding. The first edition was published in 1876 without plates.

Provenance

Avenir Nizoff (a pianist who lived in Edmonton, Canada, in the second half of the 20th century, and gathered a large, wide-ranging library of Russian works, especially covering art, history and literature).

Original publisher’s cloth, pictorial colour with gilt lettering to upper board, gilt lettering to spine.
