Pleasant example of this uncommon work, which grew out of the play ‘The King on the Square’ (1907) and first appeared the same year in the magazine ‘Pereval’: this is the first separate edition. The work reflects Blok’s personal crisis, as well as his observations on the Russian society and the 1905 Revolution.
