Burnett’s first children’s novel, in the original cloth here in lovely, bright condition.

First edition, first issue, with The De Vinne Press imprint at the verso of the last page of text and number 14 printed on the lower left margin of p. 209. This was Burnett’s first children’s novel, and originally appeared as a serial in the St. Nicholas Magazine between November 1885 and October 1886.

Binding

Original brown cloth, spine and cover decorated in black, red and gold, brown coated endpapers.

Condition

Small spot of rubbing to front free endpaper. An excellent copy in bright cloth and very fresh internally.
