Fine example of this scarce, low-budget émigré publication, representative of a certain Russian community exiled outside the USSR, and particularly interesting for the wealth and variety of subject matters included.
Provenance
Avenir Nizoff (a pianist who lived in Edmonton, Canada, in the second half of the 20th century, and gathered a large, wide-ranging library of Russian works, especially covering art, history and literature, with a strong representation of émigré works).

Binding
Original printed blue wrappers.
Condition
Corners a bit bumped, wrappers lightly sunned, a small stain; typed slip commenting on the quality of the publication glued to dedication leaf, otherwise excellent internally.
Very rare manuscript collection of theological and philosophical texts, including some forbidden by Catherine the Great's government in the 1780s. Very well preserved in its contemporary binding. With a poem authored most likely by the compiler of the manuscript and dedicated to the opening of the bronze horseman, the celebrated monument to Peter the Great inaugurated by Catherine in St. Petersburg.
